How to print coloring pages

Four settings decide whether a coloring page prints crisp or comes out grey, shrunken and bordered. All four are in the print dialog.

1. Pick your paper size

   Download the US Letter PDF in North America or the A4 PDF everywhere else. Both are laid out for their own printable box, so neither needs scaling.

2. Print at 100%

   In the print dialog set Scale to 100%, not "Fit to page". Fit-to-page shrinks the artwork and adds a grey border on some drivers.

3. Choose the right paper

   Plain 20 lb / 80 gsm copier paper is fine for pencils. For markers use 24 lb / 90 gsm or heavier so the ink does not bleed through.

4. Print black and white, draft quality

   The file is pure 1-bit line art, so colour ink adds nothing. Draft or economy mode uses less toner and the lines stay just as crisp.

Every page here ships as a separate US Letter file and A4 file, so you never have to scale one to fit the other - that is the single most common reason a downloaded coloring page prints with a grey border and clipped edges.
